Blue Bell, PA – Veterans of the Army's renowned 1st Infantry Division, the Big Red One, will hold their 90th Annual Reunion in Colorado Springs, Colorado from August 20-24, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza. The reunion is conducted by the Big Red One veterans' organization, the Society of the First Infantry Division located in Blue Bell, PA.

The 1st Infantry Division is the Army's oldest and most famous division. It fought with great distinction in World War I, World War II, Vietnam, the Gulf War and now, Operation Iraqi Freedom where the Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team from Germany and 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Combat Aviation Brigade and several smaller units from Ft Riley are currently serving. Its 1st Brigade continues to train thousands of Military Transition Team members and deploy them to Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to its combat service, the Big Red One also served with great distinction in Germany and the U.S. during the Cold War.

Over 960 Big Red One veterans and their guests attended the 89th Annual Reunion recently held in the St. Louis, Missouri. The Commanding General of the Division and a solid contingent of young soldiers serving in the Division and Big Red One veterans from Iraq added a fresh, new dimension to the reunion.

Everyone who ever served in the First Infantry Division or any unit attached to it is cordially invited to attend the reunion.
