2010 ANNUAL REUNION
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
AUGUST 25 TO AUGUST 29
The Big Red One two-steps along the San Antonio River Walk!

It all begins with the river… along this charming waterway is a vibrant downtown that sits in the very heart of south Texas. It flows past lively restaurants and clubs, hotels and spas, historical villages, museums and of course the iconic Alamo. This is a city of diversity of cultures and many exciting attractions.
The town was settled in 1718 alongside a spring in what is now San Pedro Park. This is the second-oldest park in the nation. Later it moved south and the city soon began to build in stone both around squares and along the San Antonio River with a string of missions. One of our tours will highlight the Mission Trail.
Our hotel this year sits on the river walk so you will have unlimited access to this interesting and exciting piece of Texas. We have booked the entire Crowne Plaza Riverwalk with an overflow hotel around the corner. So if you want to be where all the action is you will want to sign up early. The banquet this year will be limited so we will have to limit tickets to registered guests only.
In keeping with tradition we have arranged several tours so you can experience the true flavor of this exciting city. Your choices are a bit diverse, ranging from the Spanish Mission Trails to a visit to the LBJ Ranch and historic Fredericksburg (attention shoppers!). For our wine lovers we have a Texas Wine Country tasting tour. We are also offering a different sort of tour for those of you interested in caverns. Of course we will be offering our city tour and a cruise along the river walk. For you golfers, Texas boasts great hill country golf. A tour of the Center for the Intrepid and Family Support Center at Brooke Army Medical Center will show you how our current-day seriously wounded are being treated. 1st Infantry Division patients may also be visited and will be invited to the reunion. Please take time and read all of the information on our tours under Tours and Special Events. Some of the tours will have limited seating, so don’t miss out on what you want to see and do and get your registration in quickly.
If you have joined us in previous years we are looking forward to seeing you again, and if this is your first time we can’t wait to meet you. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your Society for assistance. We will be happy to answer any of your questions. Come and enjoy some Texas hospitality with us.
