Applying for a DePuy Scholarship
Upon being notified that a Big Red One soldier has been killed in action or killed in a training accident and who has dependent children, the Foundation Secretary will send a letter to the soldier's next-of-kin explaining the scholarship program in detail and asking for basic information on the dependent children. Upon receipt of this information, the Foundation Secretary will officially register the children in the program and prepare certificate(s) attesting to the fact the children are eligible for a total of $10,000 educational assistance ($2,500 per year) upon acceptance into a college, technical or vocational school. Where possible, these certificates will be presented to the children at an appropriate ceremony.
