Eligibility for a DePuy Scholarship

Children of soldiers who are killed in combat or training accidents while serving in a unit assigned or attached to the 1st Infantry Division and authorized to wear the 1st Infantry Division patch are eligible for a DePuy Scholarship. Upon being notified of the death of the soldier, the Foundation Secretary will send a letter to the mother of the child(ren) explaining the scholarship program in detail and asking for basic information on the dependent children.

Upon receipt of this information, the Foundation Secretary will officially register the children in the program and will prepare a certficate(s) attesting to the fact that the children are eligible for a total of $10,000 in educational assistance ($2,500 per year) upon acceptance into a college, technical or vocational school. Where possible, these certificates will be presented to the children at an appropriate ceremony.
