2007 - 2008 Scholarship Awards
The Huebner/Zimmerman Scholarship Committee met on October 3, 2007 to select the recipients of the scholarships for the 2007-2008 school year. The following students were chosen to receive scholarships.
Huebner Scholarship Recipients
· Anne Raines Cardenas, of Valrico, FL, the daughter of Eduardo Cardenas who served in the 1st Infantry Division Artillery from July 1990 to June 1992. Anne is attending Florida State University where she is majoring in Public Relations.
· Wesley Johnson, of Beaumont, TX, the grandson of Jack Daniel Johnson who served with Co. B, 2nd BN, 18th Infantry Regiment from February 1963 until June 1966 when he was killed in Vietnam. Wesley is attending Texas A & M University where he is majoring in Chemical Engineering.
· Sarah Smith, of Florissant, MO, the granddaughter of Milton Smith who served in Co. L, 26th Infantry Regiment from August 1944 to July 1946. She is attending St. Louis University where she is majoring in Physical Therapy.
Zimmerman Scholarship Recipients
· Tracy Durken, of Binghamton, NY, the daughter of Michael B. Durken who served in Co. B, 2nd BN, 18th Infantry Regiment from April 1969 to March 1970. Tracy is attending the University of Rochester where she is majoring in Psychology.
· Chelsey Fenn, of Dunstable MA, the granddaughter of Thomas Fenn who served in Co. G, 26th Infantry Regiment in World War II. Chelsey is attending Emmanuel College and is majoring in graphic design.
· Michael Parmentier, of Clarksville, TN, the son of Albert G. Parmentier, who served in 1-1 ATK BN, 4th BDE from July 1999 to June 2002. Michael is attending Purdue University where he is majoring in Aeronautical Engineering.
